Thanks to the efforts of many amateurs in the AM community, Amplitude Modulation was returned to W1AW on June 18, 2004 via the donation of a Johnson Valiant transmitter and National NC-303 receiver. Amateur Radio Stations W1ZR, W1UJR and WA1HLR were the first stations logged.

W1AW, the Hiram Percy Maxim Memorial Station and the AM Vintage Station are available for use by visiting amateurs during operating hours.
You can find out more about W1AW and it's operating schedule at www.arrl.org/w1aw.html
