Greeting

Good morning fellow AM brethren, I would like to welcome you to the 1999 AM Forum.

Regrettably Tom and I were not able to be here today as we both are self-employed and need to be at work early Monday morning. However, the Buffalo AM group has worked diligently to present this information as completely as possible. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us via the airwaves, or email.

I would like to extend personal thanks to my friend Dale KW1I for inviting our group to offer this presentation. It is truly an honor to be selected to entertain; at least we hope we entertain you all today. I would also like to thank Dale for volunteering to host the presentation in our absence, and for his efforts to promote AM in a positive light.

Order of Presentation

I have divided the presentation into 3 parts. The first part I call “Meet the AMers”. This section will offer you an overview of the Buffalo AM group. Unfortunately, not all the local group is represented here, only those who were able to open the shack up for photos. I would like to mention some of those not here today, and thank them for their help. Specially Jerry N2QLS, Herb K2VJM and John KF2JQ

The second part deals with the “On Air Events” hosted by the group. This is what we have found makes AM operating so enjoyable. The personable interaction that AM offers is unmatched throughout the hobby. We encourage anyone to make note of the nets mentioned here, as we enjoy welcoming others.

The final section is titled “Off Air Events”. This has to do with the local group’s interaction off the air. Presentations of AM to newcomers, Special Event stations, and other outreaches to the amateur community that portray AM in a positive light. Included in this section are our annual AMers Dinner, and Hamfest events.

We hope that you enjoy the presentation, and perhaps we will get to know you all both on and off the air.

- Bruce KG2IC and the Buffalo AM Community!
